Wildlife surveys on your doorstep!
We are very excited to announce our second Gold Coast Bioblitz! This is an opportunity for experienced and amateur nature lovers to spend a few hours with an expert and search for the wonderful wildlife in the biodiversity hot spot that is Springbrook National Park on December 4th, 5th and 6th.
Small survey groups will team up with leading scientists and head out into nature to learn observational skills and how to properly identify different species. You can come to one, come to two, come to as many as you like! Think birds, reptiles, echidnas, gliders, crayfish, bandicoots, fish, glow worms, macropods, flora, frogs, bats and more!
If you have an interest in the hinterland and its fascinating plants and creatures, this is the event for you. As well as our many wildlife surveys we have a whole program of environmental workshops, presentations and activities going on at basecamp, so join us with the family for the whole weekend! You can rent bunks or camp out and spend the weekend doing wildlife surveys, attending workshops, and having sing-songs by the camp fire.
Ticket sales will open in October 2020.
Watergum is a not-for-profit organisation and is funding the BioBlitz to provide the community with a unique opportunity to experience the wonders of Australian nature. We are also committed to collecting important data for the protection of the rare and endangered species in Springbrook. Ticket sales will help us to recover some of the costs associated with event. Thank you for supporting Australian native species.
