Water Quality Monitoring Coomera River

Volunteers are critical in the environmental sector. We have a challenge ahead of us, and it’s true that many hands make light work.

Our volunteers help us plant trees, determine waterway health, survey Platypus, protect Sea Turtles, control invasive cane toads and more!

We welcome internship and work placement applications. These can be specific to a program or across all Watergum activities and will help you gain hands on experience in the environmental sector.

What you need to know

  •  Time requirement: Flexible. Most commonly internships are a 50 hour or 120 hour commitment. We can also offer 6-12 month internships.
  • Skills you will acquire: data collection, management, analysis, survey and field work, administration experience. If you have specific areas of interest please let us know.
  • What Watergum offers: A great team environment, support and training opportunities, the chance to gain experience in a dynamic not for profit while contributing to meaningful conservation outcomes.

Please note all interns require their own transport as our work sites can be difficult to access with public transport.

Sales, Marketing and Campaigns Lead
Watergum is seeking to employ a Sales, Marketing and Campaigns Lead. The position is for 38 hours a week, based at our head office in Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast. This position will develop and implement strategies to meet our sales targets in the Invasive Species and Philanthropy Business Units and will be responsible for marketing communications including all social media and the Watergum website.

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic individual who is passionate about environmental conservation and who has a knack for sales, fundraising, and marketing communication. The ideal candidate will be confident, articulate, with high-level reading and writing skills, organised, and have the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
