Learn how healthy our waterways are by identifying heaps of different waterbugs.
The Waterbug Gold Coast program is coordinated by The Gold Coast Catchment Association and supported by the City of Gold Coast – Catchment Management Unit. The program is a collaboration with Gecko, Coomera River Catchment Group, Nerang River Keepers & Austinville Landcare.
The program raises community and government awareness in the Gold Coast region and aims to distribute information on waterways health, waterbug identification, diversity and composition, trends and impacts. We will also monitor the water quality at the same time!
The program is open to the wider community and we really encourage everyone to participate and learn new skills whilst collecting vital data! We aim to collaborate with more community groups to be able to expand the program in the next months.
We are heading out to our Southern sites with the Gecko crew! Please meet us at Lions Park in Tallebudgera Valley from 9-11am (53 Syndicate Rd).
Please make sure to register to get all the updates on locations and times! This program is suitable for all age levels.
