Watergum’s PlatypusWatch is a citizen science program that has monitored platypus populations on the Gold Coast and in Logan for the past 12 years. Community volunteers help to collate vital data on platypus populations and habitat by going out into the environment to search for platypus, with all sightings and observations reported to council and added to national databases.
Now more than ever, our local platypus need your help. With increased urbanisation and natural disasters, platypus populations are under threat. With your help we can monitor family groups and help ensure their survival for future generations.
PlatypusWatch is supported and funded by Logan City Council
