Tweed shire
Community PlantingUrban green spaces are vital for biodiversity, community wellbeing, and resilience to climate change, yet they are increasingly under pressure from urbanisation and habitat loss.
Through this project, Watergum is engaging local schools, community members, and stakeholders in hands-on revegetation activities to restore native habitats and enhance urban sustainability in the Tweed Shire.

Through planting 1,500 native tubestock, the project aims to create wildlife corridors, enhance biodiversity, and mitigate urban heating by increasing canopy cover. This initiative will engage students and community members in restoring urban green spaces, improving liveability, and building urban resilience.
