Watergum Cane Toads – Gold Coast Toad Busters

Work together with your community to control cane toads!

Cane toads are highly toxic presenting significant danger to pets, wildlife and agriculture. The plague is spreading at an alarming rate, and we need to work together to reduce their numbers and reclaim our properties and natural areas.

Join our first Gold Coast community Toad Busting event of 2023!

To kick off our first Gold Coast event of the season, we’re inviting you to exclusive after hours access to David Fleay’d Wildlife Park! This will be an opportunity to meet some like-minded individuals, have some fun and do something great for our local environment.

We will welcome you with an educational session that covers everything you need to know about cane toads. Then we will split into groups and compete to clear the area of cane toads!

What to bring:

• Bucket with a lid
• Rubber or garden gloves
• Torch
• Enclosed shoes
• Pick up stick optional

This is a great activity for the whole family. The skills you acquire can be put into use on your own properties, reclaim your gardens from cane toads!
