Waterbugs

January 27, 2019 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The Waterbug Gold Coast program is a new program which is coordinated by The Gold Coast Catchment Association and supported by the City of Gold Coast – Catchment Management Unit. The program is a collaboration with Gecko and the Coomera River Catchment Group. We are fortunate to now have the Nerang River Keepers on board as well and we will be heading out for our first community sessions at Crane Creek.

The program raises community and government awareness in the Gold Coast region and aims to distribute information on waterways health, waterbug identification, diversity and composition, trends and impacts. We will also monitor the water quality at the same time!

The program is open to the wider community and we really encourage everyone to participate and learn new skills whilst collecting vital data! We aim to collaborate with more community groups to be able to expand the program in the next year.

The session will be facilitated by Steven Gill from the Coomera River Catchment Group in conjuction with The Nerang River Keepers.

Please make sure to register to get all the updates on locations and times! This program is suitable for all age levels.
