Numinbah Valley Restoration Project

August 24, 2019 at 8:30 am - 10:30 am

Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre Parents & Citizens Association Incorporated (NVEEC P&C) was established in 2012 with the objective offacilitating the development and further improvement of the School, and fostering community interest in environmental education within the local and broader community of the Gold Coast.

In 2014 NVEEC P&C commenced a community environmental restoration project on a portion of public land in the Numinbah Valley (next to the School of Arts building). The aim of this project is to rehabilitate a weed infested drainage line to an area with improved natural values. The site chosen has a high profile within the local community and is an ideal place to promote the value of riparian vegetation and demonstrate techniques used in rehabilitation work. Tasks vary on site from session to session and often include elements of planting, maintenance weeding and mulching.
