Bonogin Valley Bushcare Group

April 13, 2019 at 8:00 am - 10:00 am

The Gold Coast’s beautiful natural environment allows us to enjoy a lifestyle like no other city. By volunteering in a  Bushcare Group you can help protect, maintain and enhance our natural areas by participating in activities such as identifying and controlling weeds, identifying and encouraging native species, maintaining your site and planting native trees where required. You can actively play a part by joining the Bonogin Valley Bushcare Group.

The Bonogin Valley Bushcare Group was established in April of 2013 and is partnered with the Natural Areas Management Unit under the Beaches to Bushland Volunteer Landcare Program. The group assists with the restoration of City of Gold Coast-managed Davenport Park along the upper reaches of Bonogin Creek.

The group’s activities consist of environmental weed control and planting native riparian species where required.

The group meet on the first Saturday of the month from February to November
Time: 8am – 10am
Location: Davenport Park, Parkmeadows Road, Bonogin
What to bring: Sturdy shoes, long sleeve shirts, pants, sunscreen, hat and some water. Gloves are compulsory.

For more information on how you can join contact the Natural Areas Management Unit on 07 5581 1537 or [email protected].
