Watergum and City of Gold Coast have partnered to create ToadTrack, a citizen science program dedicated to tracking and monitoring cane toad populations in the region. The program coordinates regular on-ground control efforts and collects data to evaluate the effectiveness of these methods, shaping future management strategies. Additionally, ToadTrack aims to monitor native frog populations and explore the impact of environmental variables on cane toad activity.
This introductory session will serve as your induction to the program. Once completed, you’ll be ready to start collecting data right away! We also encourage you to attend an in-person event when one is available. These events provide an excellent opportunity to meet the team, ask questions, and deepen your understanding of cane toads, native frogs, and the environment.
