Currumbin Nestbox Workshop

March 21 at 8:00 am - 10:30 am

A hands-on community workshop where you’ll be able to build your own free nestbox to take home!

Join Watergum for a hands-on Currumbin Nest Box Workshop at the beautiful Currumbin Valley Environmental Education Centre in the heart of the Currumbin Valley.

The day starts with a guided tour of the Centre’s beautiful campus. Known for its focus on environmental education, sustainability, and connecting people with nature, the Centre offers a range of wildlife-friendly spaces. Participants will explore the grounds and discover how the site incorporates habitat-friendly design, natural resource management, and outdoor learning areas to support biodiversity and inspire environmental stewardship in students and the wider community.

The practical workshop, led by Hollow Log Homes, will include an engaging discussion on the importance of wildlife habitat and how landholders can help native species through nest boxes and other habitat structures. Participants will then get hands-on, building their own nest box (or similar habitat structure) to take home and install on their property.

This project is funded by the Australian Government’s Natural Heritage Trust under the Urban Rivers and Catchments Program, with the support of Watergum Community.
