LOGAN
Mapping Koala Populations with Thermal DronesWe conducted a thermal drone survey in Neville Lawrie Reserve to help monitor the local koala population. The goal of the project was to capture high-quality data that will guide future conservation and land-management decisions.
All findings will be shared with Logan City Council to support informed, evidence-based planning for koala protection.
Alongside the survey work, Watergum delivered two community workshops to educate residents about koala conservation, share survey insights and empower locals to play an active role in protecting koalas in their neighbourhood. As part of this project, Watergum will also train aned additional team member to obtain their Remote Pilot Licence, expanding our in-house capability for specialised drone-based environmental monitoring.
