DESCRIPTION:Join us for a night-time adventure during FrogID Week to see which frog species are hiding in Logan’s parks and natural spaces!\n\n\nExplore Logan’s natural environment in a different light and learn about the diverse species of frogs that live locally. Our experienced guides and local frog expert will lead you along the forest trails\, sharing tips and tricks to help you spot our amazing amphibians in their natural habitat.  \nDuring the walk take part in Australia’s biggest frog count\, FrogID Week (8 – 17 November 2024)\, and help us count local frog populations! From croaks and barks to whistles and bleats\, every frog species makes a unique sound. Record frog calls through the free FrogID app to help measure the health and distribution of frogs around the nation.  \nThis event is ideal for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts looking to sharpen their senses. Don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the magic of nature night! \n \nIMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE YOU REGISTER: \n\nThis event is designed for adults and not bookable for children under 18 years.\nThis is an outdoor walk in a bushland environment with uneven surfaces and unsealed tracks. Participants must be physically able to be stand and walk through a park for up to 2 hours – moderate fitness required.\nYou must register and secure a ticket for all adults attending. DESCRIPTION:Watergum Community Cane Toad Busting – Pottsville\n\n\nTweed Shire Council has partnered with not-for-profit community environment group Watergum to bring cane toad control to the Tweed this season. \n \nCane toads in the Tweed cause declines in our native wildlife\, poison domestic pets and have negative impacts on our local agricultural industries. \n \nJoin our Community Toad Bust on Friday\, 15th November at 7.30pm (AEDT) in Pottsville and work together to control cane toads! This is a great activity for the whole family. \nMeeting location: Pottsville Environmental Park\, at the end of Centennial Drive. \n \nCome along to meet some like-minded individuals\, learn some new toad busting skills and make a difference for our environment! This event will also be the induction for our new citizen science project\, where we’ll be measuring the impacts of toad busting on local toad populations. \n \nHow the event will run: \nWatergum staff will welcome you with a brief educational talk\, followed by an overview and induction of our citizen science study. Then we will split into groups and work together to clear the park of as many cane toads as we can! \n \nPlease wear closed in shoes and appropriate clothing for the outdoors at night. If you have a toad busting kit\, please bring it along on the night!
