Possums\, koalas and parrots live in tree hollows\, but tree hollows are not the only hollows where animals live. They’ll get their hands sandy planting natives\, weeding\, and learning about our amazing dune ecosystem! \nO﻿ur friends from TurtleWatch will join us to tell us all about the marine turtles that nest along the Gold Coast and how we can look out for these beautiful reptiles. They’ll run a beach clean-up and rubbish audit to ensure the turtles have a pristine place to nest. \nC﻿hildren under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop. Cane toads are common in the Tweed\, but they cause declines in native wildlife\, poison domestic pets and have negative impacts on our local agricultural industries. \n \nCome along and learn about how cane toads impact biodiversity in your own backyard\, and what you can do to help! \n \nWe will give you tips on how to control cane toads effectively and humanely in your area. This includes information on how to use our world first tadpole trapping technology\, which enables you to break the breeding cycle of cane toads! \n \nJoin us on Wednesday October 25th at the Banora Point Community Centre to learn how to control cane toads at every life stage\, identify native frogs vs cane toads\, toad proof your waterbodies and create habitat for wildlife! \n \nSpaces are limited so please register to attend! \n \nThe Tweed Community Cane Toad Control program is an initiative of Tweed Shire Council. \n \nWatergum is an environmental charity based on the Gold Coast\, QLD. DESCRIPTION:Invasive weeds pose one of the biggest threats to our natural environment\, but what can YOU do about it?\n\n\nDuring this session you will join a qualified bush regenerator on a guided walk of this location to identify different weed species and learn the appropriate methods for control. You will be shown how to use chemicals safely and effectively and how to determine whether they are necessary.
