SUMMARY:Numinbah Valley Restoration Project
DESCRIPTION:Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre Parents & Citizens Association Incorporated (NVEEC P&C) was established in 2012 with the objective offacilitating the development and further improvement of the School\, and fostering community interest in environmental education within the local and broader community of the Gold Coast. \nIn 2014 NVEEC P&C commenced a community environmental restoration project on a portion of public land in the Numinbah Valley (next to the School of Arts building). The aim of this project is to rehabilitate a weed infested drainage line to an area with improved natural values. The site chosen has a high profile within the local community and is an ideal place to promote the value of riparian vegetation and demonstrate techniques used in rehabilitation work. Tasks vary on site from session to session and often include elements of planting\, maintenance weeding and mulching. \nSite\nMeeting Point is Numinbah Valley School of Arts carpark. Project site is adjacent to the carpark- a drainage line flowing into the Nerang River. \nTime\n8:30-10:30am. We often have a cuppa tea after! \nBring\nEnclosed shoes\, gloves\, water bottle\, hat\, sunscreen\, insect repellent. \nHave a look at this video which outlines the original condition of the site\, the goals of the project and the works undertaken was produced in 2016.

SUMMARY:Lake Clean-up Day is ON AGAIN!
DESCRIPTION:Every year an amazing amount of rubbish is removed from the lake and surrounding foreshores highlighting the need to do this on a regular basis. \nIt would be great if we could get as many residents as possible to help and give the lake a “Spring Clean” just in time for the swimming season. \nThe clean-up day is planned for Sunday the 18th of October at 900 am followed by a free sausage sizzle around 1200pm. If you cannot make the clean-up feel free to catch up with your neighbours at the BBQ afterwards. \nThe meeting place will be in Morialta Park off Wild Duck Drive. Location marked X in the map below. See the events tab on the website for full details. \nSee you there!
